Seven Days Ago ...

It was a week ago today that we brought dad to the hospital in respitory distress (he was struggling to breathe). Today was a tough day.

After meeting with the medical staff this morning, we understood that dad's lungs are not improving. While we don't know what each day will bring, we were told the next couple days will give us a clearer picture.

Please continue to pray for healing, but also for peace for dad and the family. It's hard to see him struggle at times. We thank Our Heavenly Father for the strength he is giving us. We know many people are praying. Thank you!

  1. Dear God. Thank you for all the good thinks that you gave us, like Leendert Kooy. Please, dear Lord, give us peace, faith, strongest and patience for to wait your work. Like Leendert use to say "the good Lord knows". Keep close to Leendert. Keep close to the family. Keep close to us. Take everything in your merciful hands. Amen.

  2. Dear Kooy family,
Thank you for the updates; our hearts are with you as you walk through this very difficult time. We have to think of you so often and lift up in prayer you as family - for God's grace, strength and peace as you minister and bless your dad right now. We pray for your dad that he would receive healing but ultimately that he would experience and know in an amazing way the Lord's peace and love right now. "Sterkte". Love, the Schouwstra family

  4. Thank you so much for the honest, candid updates. Please, who writes these? This all must be so very hard and overwhelming for you. Our thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. From Marcia, Brent and the Leigh girls.
A prayer For Relatives and Friends:
O loving Father, we commend to thy gracious keeping all who are near and dear to us. Have mercy upon any who are sick - Oom Leen - and comfort those who are in pain, anxiety, or sorrow. Awaken all who are careless about eternal things. Bless those who are young and in health, that they may give the days of their strength unto thee. Comfort the aged and infirm, that thy peace may rest upon them. Hallow the ties of kindred, that we may help, and not hinder, one another in all such good works as thou hast prepared for us to walk in; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Just let Papa Kooy know that everyone in the little Chruch in Britt is aware...and continually praying...and that I can not play the organ by myself...I never studied enough...

  9. To my dear “old” friend Joanne and the whole Kooy family,

Wow, what a difficult time this must be for you, emotional and probably having memories of your Mom too. May you find strength in each other’s company and peace and love in spending time with your Dad.

Sending love, light and prayers your way!!

  10. I am so sorry. A sad loss. It was my friend for a few days, but an intense friendship, which I appreciate. May God welcome him into their midst.
