Safe in the Arms of Jesus

Dear Friends,

Dad went home to be with the Lord this afternoon. We are thankful he died peacefully as we were around his bed, singing some of his favourite songs. While painful and difficult, we are comforted by the fact that dad's faith was in Jesus, who he now is seeing face to face!

Thank you for all your prayers and support. We know the only way we have had the strength to make it through these days is because of all your prayers. Please continue to pray for comfort, strength and courage as we face the flurry of things that will happen in the next few days.

We hope to post details for visitation and the service on this blog tomorrow, so check back tomorrow afternoon for those details.

  3. I'm sorry for the loss of your Dad. Growing up, you guys were my second family and that played an integral part of the person I am today! So many good memories! May peace and love be with all of you. See you soon.

    Love and hugs.

  5. How about this mom. Dear Kooy family. It was just 354 days ago that we lost our beloved husband and father and your dads dear friend Chris.... These two spent nearly a lifetime together and here they are, both in heaven sharing in the beauty of their Saviour. This Saviour's house has many rooms, and one was prepared especially for your dad, and without a doubt there is a room there with the most beautiful music being heard....such as no ear has heard, and what no human mind could ever imagine. Your dad. A son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend, a music man, no, THE music man, a story teller, a bible sharer....but most importantly, a child of God. Let this rest in your hearts and be your comfort. Our prayers go up for you as you grieve your father. May each of you be carried on their wings. Blessings and love from Caroline Nobels, Carol and Ron Schutten, John and Jennifer Nobels and their families. xo

  6. Dear Family.
We just heard the sad news from a former choir member and looked up your blogs. That went fast. We wish you all Gods strength and nearness. Don't forget, God is always with us, we are never alone. Love and prayers from Sake & Gerda Veenstra

  8. Dear Kooy family, Our sincere condolences to you all and our prayers for God's comfort and strength. We have so many wonderful memories of your dad (and mom) Gary from playing in the band which Leendert initially started and Mary from singing in the choir for many years. Leendert also played the organ at all four of our childrens weddings. Blessings for comfort and peace to you all. Mary & Gary Maas
